It’s been nearly three years to the day since one of my most fateful hiking trips on Adams.Does the date have significance, or was it a fluke?
Hiking up Adams can be straightforward, if you want it to be. But adding some complications can create a more sophisticated route. A more straightforward trail might not have as much to discover.
You need to be ready. Once in awhile, you actually get good winter weather in the Presidential range. When it happens, all is good.
Adams is a great hike when done on its own. It’s steep and rocky, but patience wins the day, and perhaps even the best view in the Whites.
It was a long, hard day. Mt Jefferson, Mt Adams, Mt Madison. 2018-06-16 (Saturday.) Via the Sylvan Way, Amphibrach, Randolph Path, Jefferson Loop, Gulfslide Trail, and Valley Way. Approx 14 miles.
