Spring Hiking
Wrapping up my Belknap Range Hiker patch on a cloudy day… not much to see far away, but up close there was lots. Flora and fauna, oh my!
Short and sweet, no sweat, but Swett. The Belknap Range is synonymous with fun, for sure. And views aplenty!
Sometimes you need a break. And when you return, you find more than you ever imagined possible.
Sometimes you endure pain and steep terrain for not a lot of expansive views. But sometimes you find something more fulfilling in those moments.
Sometimes you look up and see clouds. You hike up, and see something more.
The sublime is found in the quietude. You, the trail, the mountain, fresh air. Hiking North Pack Monadnock had all that in spades. Perfect.
Mt Isolation is tough. The trail itself isn’t hard, per se, but there’s a lot of mileage, and in the warmer months, there’s a few tough water crossings. In the winter, there’s a bushwhack. And did I mention miles? But it’s an amazing summit with stellar views of Mt Washington. It’ll steal your breath away!
Mt Sunapee has a lot to offer a hiker, so why were there no crowds on those trails?
Lovewell Mountain is a great, family friendly hike. Limited views from the summit don’t diminish all the neat stuff you can see down at your feet.
Hiking Mt Thumb and Mt Skatutakee on a pleasant spring afternoon is everything your soul could want.
After a 20 year hiatus, I finally step foot again on Chocorua. Worth every minute, I enjoyed a quite easy trail, even if it’s still very muddy out.
